Is WAP available for my country and wireless carrier?

WAP ("mobile internet") is a standard service offered by wireless carriers today. Even the very basic plans include at least "CSD" WAP access, charged according to the WAP connection duration. Advanced plans usually include "GPRS" WAP access, which is about 3 times faster than CSD. GPRS users can choose to be permanently online but do not have to pay for internet connection unless sending or receiving information.
Unfortunately, there are a few wireless carriers out there who believes they have right to decide what WAP content is "appropriate" for their subscribers. They simply block your ability to download images (and any other files, such as ringtones) from third-party (others than their own) WAP sites, even if you are paying for "internet enabled" service plan. At the moment, subscribers of Verizon Wireless, Alltel, U.S. Cellular in the U.S. and Telus Mobility in Canada are not able to use our service.
Update: Virgin Mobile (both in US and Canada) used to allow unrestricted wireless web access. At the moment, they "guard" subscribers, blocking all third-party media file downloads (ringtones, pictures etc).
